The Friday Before Halloween

Okay, let me preface this with, if I don’t just get these blogged, I’m going to put it off and then these images will never see the light of day on my blog. I had this grand old plan on how I wanted to do it and that’s just requiring too much mental energy right now. So, I’m just going to word vomit on here today just to get the story going…

Halloween party

The Friday before Halloween, Aaron said he wasn’t feeling well. You could just tell after cardiac rehab that morning and a school Halloween party that afternoon, something was up with him. In true Aaron fashion, he wanted to put off going to the ER because he didn’t want the kids to miss out on Halloween. Great thing about living an hour and a half away from the grandparents, I have back up! Sent them a quick text to see if they had plans and trick-or-treating was taken care. Finally, he will let me take him into the ER. Priorities, right? lol HA!

We get to the ER and since it is his heart that hurts, I always assume he is going to be admitted. And I was right. The next day we met with the on call doctor. He said Aaron needed a heart cath and he could do it that day OR we could wait for Aaron’s doctor to be in on Monday. I think anyone would have made the decision to wait if it wasn’t an emergency situation and that’s what we chose to do.

Monday rolls around. We meet with Aaron’s doctor and he tells us there is no need to do a heart cath. It’s pretty amazing you can go from “You need this.” to “Eh. You’ll be fine.” That was not the answer we wanted to hear. Something was definitely going on with him, but like always, the test were coming back normal. They always come back normal and his doctor knew this. He decided to discharge him anyways and send him home. I told that asshole we’d be back before the end of the week.
