Hello! My Name is Kim.

And I’m a giant slacker! Gah! I haven’t blogged in a  while. Oops! We were at a week long course in Graf two weeks ago. It was an amazing course, and it was definitely what I needed. Supposed to take this course before Aaron took command, but better late than never, right? I’ve done a lot of soul searching lately and this class helped guide me a little more toward the peace I have been looking for. I just need balance in my life. lol. Don’t we all. ;) Since Aaron has been in command, I’ve found it harder and harder to actually work and be a full time photographer. We pulled Kelcie out of daycare two weeks ago as well, so she’s now my little office buddy. And let me tell you, she is a horrible office buddy lol :P She just doesn’t have the attention span that I would need her to have. Her being home has definitely changed up my schedule. Now, I only working during nap time. I try to have her in bed for a nap around 11:30, and depending on what day it is, I’ll only get to work until 1:45. Not much of a full time gig, huh? Having this “slow down” has been nice, but I still need a creative outlet. I can’t just turn it off. I’ve had to find other ways to have “Kim Time” and feel like a productive member of society. I decided to focus more on my Shop Talk stuff and more on networking with other photographers. I actually love it! I love being able to talk shop with my peers again and get together again. I did this while Aaron was deployed and it really saved my sanity. Saving my sanity seems to be a big theme around here lately lol. Anyways, staying on that theme, FB is full of drama and distractions. I decided it was time to start moving my Shop Talk groups, yes, all three of them, off of FB and on to a forum. It’s nice. No drama, just photography. :) I’m excited to see how this new adventure will take off.

One of the main reasons why I created the photography Facebook group was to be able to network with and learn from other photographers in my area. Now, having the forum we have to “move” all of our content and build it back up. I’ve been working on tutorials, blog posts, workflow, etc. to post over there to help my fellow photographers grow. Yesterday, I was able to get some of the things I have been working on up in the forum. One was a workflow of an image that I took of Mac at the park on Friday. The park has some spots that just have amazing light! Here’s the before and after:
